Role Description
eScribers is recruiting legal transcribers to join our highly skilled and dedicated UK team of professionals. This position is ideal for candidates who would like to create their own work schedule, while working from the comfort and convenience of their home.
- Contract with eScribers Limited and have the option of engaging with Marten Walsh Cherer Limited.

Qualifications
- Reside in the UK
- Legally entitled to work in the UK
- Current UK bank account to receive payment
- Excellent understanding of the English language, grammar, punctuation, etc.
- Confident in the use of technology and creating documents to the highest standard
- Confident in using the Internet to research case information/references
- Committed to producing high quality transcription and ensuring the final transcript is complete and accurate
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Good communicator to ensure the best possible service

Requirements
- A work dedicated and secure Windows computer
- A work dedicated email account
- Microsoft Word 2010 or higher and be confident in its use
- Foot Pedal: An Infinity IN-USB 2 or IN-USB 3 foot pedal is recommended
- Stable Internet connection
- Commitment to ISO27001 security standards

Basis of Engagement
- Freelancer contract with compensation on either a folio (every 72 words) or per minute of audio transcribed basis.
- Submit/approve invoices for the work completed and paid via direct deposit.
- Volume of work can fluctuate; no guarantee of the level of work offered.
- Priority for work given to transcribers who maintain excellent quality standards.
Onboarding
- Undertake the onboarding process that involves testing, telephone/MS Teams interview, submission of documentation, and completion of required paperwork (freelancer contract).
- Computer setup and a BPSS (including Criminal Records Check) check (at the candidate’s expense).
- Familiarisation with the required software.
