Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Bid Writer to join our clients dynamic team. This pivotal role involves crafting compelling and persuasive tender submissions to secure new business opportunities. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including project management, commercial, and design teams, to ensure bids are clear, competitive, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write high-quality bid proposals, ensuring they are well-structured, persuasive, and meet the specific requirements of each tender.
  • Coordinate and manage the bid process from start to finish, including gathering and reviewing technical information, ensuring deadlines are met, and liaising with internal stakeholders.
  • Create tailored responses to Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents.
  • Collaborate with the design, commercial, and operations teams to incorporate relevant technical, financial, and project-specific information into bids.
  • Ensure all bids comply with client specifications and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain and update the company’s bid library with past submissions, case studies, and templates.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activities to enhance the quality of future bids.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer, ideally within the housebuilding, residential or construction sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the tendering process and experience working with relevant procurement systems and frameworks.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A background in construction, project management, or related fields would be beneficial, but not essential.
