Sales Representative- Desert Southwest, Southern CA Are you interested in a new career? Valtir is hiring a Sales Representative for our Southwest Regional Office. Your focus will be on developing new strategic accounts through two sales channels while maintaining relationships with key accounts within the NM, AZ, UT, NV, and Southern CA markets. The Sales Representative will manage profitable growth across all products and services and optimize all sales channels. In addition, the Sales Representative will expand market presence in their assigned territory by identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities by working closely with contractors and architectural, engineering and design firms regarding product specification and acceptance. This role will include the oversight of multiple distribution partnerships, tracking of projects, inventory, and overall business and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Makes sales calls, cold calls, and customer calls (face to face, emails, and phone calls) on existing and new target accounts.
  • Continually present our solutions to new customer base, while maintaining existing customers.
  • Works with distributors and their sales reps in the sales field to grow distribution while simultaneously maintaining brand awareness to direct market customers.
  • Manages channel conflict and day to day customer issues in assigned territory.
  • Educates, demonstrates, prospects, and closes or helps close deals with distribution and their reps, in addition to closing deals with direct market customers.
  • Works to develop new Strategic Accounts in the territory. This may include data mining, cold calling and making solution recommendations through face-to-face interaction within various decision makers.
  • Executes sales strategy in the assigned geography as directed by the Regional Manager.
  • Attend Regional conferences and seminars.
  • Remain in close communication with Service Team and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met
  • Provide input regarding forecast figures
  • Manages, controls, and takes responsibly for assigned duties.
  • Completes all “paperwork” and reporting as required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of overall business experience, to include 3 years in a direct/indirect sales role within the commercial construction industry or highway/traffic safety.
  • 3 years of equipment rental experience, with an emphasis on safety-related products preferred.
  • Experience with reading civil, site, maintenance of traffic and phasing plans, and familiarity with construction schedules a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working with distribution and direct market partners
  • Ability to sell and demonstrate drive in gaining new business and new customers.
  • Solid business acumen, and knowledge of the sales process; track record of sales success.
  • Coordinates and executes annual sales planning.
  • Consistently delivers training and upsell opportunities on products.
  • Effectively leverage the sales process to increase success rate for each project.
  • Identify and effectively partner with key internal and external decision makers.
  • Identify the appropriate communication strategy to the customer.
  • Effectively leverages training, tools, technology and programs.
  • Consistently exhibits a high level of time and territory management
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong presentation, training and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient at interacting with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Must keep up to date with local product trends, building codes/regulations and state and local MUTCD safety standards.
