Database Administrator - Robert Half

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and implementing database structures while ensuring seamless data migration from Excel files to a Microsoft SQL Server environment. This is a part-time, fully remote opportunity requiring commitment of 5-10 hours per week.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement a robust shareholder database using Microsoft SQL Server. Oversee the migration of data from Excel spreadsheets into the SQL Server environment. Conduct performance tuning and optimization tasks to ensure database efficiency. Collaborate closely with front-end developers and internal accounting teams to align database functionality with organizational needs. Provide regular progress updates during scheduled team meetings. Ensure database security and integrity throughout the setup and migration process. Utilize expertise in Azure SQL environments when necessary to enhance database capabilities.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and database design principles. Demonstrated experience with data migration from Excel to SQL Server. Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques. Ability to work independently and effectively communicate within a remote team environment. Expertise in Azure SQL Database is highly desirable. Knowledge of MySQL is considered a plus.
