Job Summary

As a Lead DevOps Engineer on our ISG TechOps Team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our Kubernetes and Linux infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the sustainment and upkeep of our core Kubernetes framework stages, providing technical leadership, and driving innovation in our cloud native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sustainment and upkeep of our core Kubernetes framework stages, ensuring they meet suitable standards and best practices in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide technical leadership as a specialist for "Kubernetes as a Service," helping internal clients with their needs for "On Demand K8s Cluster" on-prem cloud solutions.
  • Implement GitOps rules to integrate project-wide cluster provisioning, automation, and day 2 life cycle management using Kubernetes native CI/CD tools like ArgoCD and Jenkins.
  • Ensure essential security policies are implemented and enforced across the team, including patch management and documentation of project requirements.
  • Administer Linux systems on physical and virtual servers, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and applications.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues with Kubernetes objects, such as deployments, pods, namespaces, and replication controllers.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Industry experience and knowledge of cloud-native structures, service-based architecture, container-based solutions development, delivery, and operations.
  • Expert-level working knowledge of OpenShift, VMware Tanzu K8s Matrix Services, and working knowledge of ACM, ACS, Tanzu application services, and Farmer.
  • Strong foundation in VMWare virtualization, networking/SAN, security, containerization technologies, and automation.
  • Proven experience with planning, creating, and delivering global-scale platforms for software-defined data center, container technologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with DevOps tools, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) for container jobs using Jenkins or ArgoCD.
  • Programming/scripting experience with YAML, Python, Shell, and design management/organization tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat OpenShift certifications and Kubernetes certifications like CKA, CKD, or CKS.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, and Infoblox.
