About the Role

As a Work from Home Customer Service Agent with MCI, you will play a critical role in delivering top-notch customer service, technical support, and sales interactions to clients across the country. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound customer inquiries and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Utilize systems and technology to complete account management tasks and ensure accurate customer information
  • Recognize sales opportunities and apply sales skills to upgrade or sell new products and services
  • Explain and position products and processes with customers, ensuring they understand the value proposition
  • Escalate customer dissatisfaction to managerial teams and resolve complex issues
  • Ensure first-call resolution through effective problem-solving and call handling

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Be able to type swiftly and accurately (20+ words per minute)
  • Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Be familiar with Windows operating system
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and regular attendance
  • Possess problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Be customer-service oriented, empathetic, responsive, patient, and conscientious
  • Be able to multitask, stay focused, and self-manage
  • Have a strong team orientation and customer focus

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application:

  • Previous customer service or sales experience
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment

As a Work from Home Customer Service Agent, you will be required to work from a dedicated home office with a reliable broadband connection. You will be expected to maintain a professional work environment, free from distractions, and adhere to MCI's policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This role involves sitting/standing for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. You will be required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. You may occasionally need to move about the office to accomplish tasks or lift objects up to 40 pounds.

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be authorized to work in your country of residence (the United States or Canada)
  • Be willing to submit to a Level II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint
  • Be willing to undergo drug screening
