Our Teaching Philosophy

At Mathnasium, we believe that every student has the potential to succeed in math. Our teaching philosophy revolves around finding where a student is at in terms of their math abilities and building them up from there. We don't just tell students what to do; we help them solve their own problems and develop a deep understanding of math concepts. Our instructors work in a study hall-type environment with students of all ages, but most of our students are in the K-8th grade range.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach math in a way that makes sense to students, using our unique methodology and approach
• Work with students of all ages, primarily in the K-8th grade range
• Help students solve their own problems and develop a deep understanding of math concepts
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on our methodology and best practices
• Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Strong math skills and knowledge, with a solid understanding of math concepts
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and skill levels
• Coachability and willingness to learn and adapt to our unique teaching methodology
• Availability to work a minimum of 3-4 days per week, with flexibility to work more days as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• College or university student, or recent graduate
• Background in math, science, or education
• Teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a math-related field
• Experience working with students in a study hall-type environment

What We Offer

Competitive Remuneration Package:

We offer a competitive hourly rate, with the potential to earn up to $1000+ per month. Our instructors are W-2 employees, not independent contractors, which means you won't have to worry about scheduling your own students or designing your own curriculum.

• Constant movement around the center and navigation of confined spaces
• Frequent communication and exchange of accurate information
• Frequent movement of objects weighing up to 10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs
