As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be an integral part of our team, working closely with customers, sales, technical service, and other departments to deliver exceptional experiences.

Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to serve as the primary inside contact for our customers, ensuring all their needs are met with prompt and effective solutions. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll take ownership of fulfillment activities, provide product recommendations, and address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries received by phone, email, and fax, documenting interactions in Salesforce.
  • Address inquiries from sales, telesales, and distribution centers, providing quick and accurate responses.
  • Recommend, quote, sample, and sell VBS products, as well as document opportunities where custom constructions are required.
  • Oversee all aspects of order fulfillment, from receipt to delivery and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Enter new orders, verify accuracy against documented procedures, and process order changes and cancellations.
  • Recommend alternative product constructions, monitor open work orders, and expedite as needed.
  • Proactively notify customers of late or problem orders, offering VBS product alternatives to assist.
  • Resolve customer-specific freight and logistics issues, working closely with Flexcon's Shipping Departments.
  • Utilize the E-price tool to support customer inquiries, including VBS product recommendations, price quotes, and application sheets.
  • Address information-related customer complaints, implementing corrective actions and confirming resolutions.
  • Proactively engage assigned accounts to better understand their business applications and uncover missed opportunities.
  • Assist with order entry overflow, standard price quotations overflow, and entry of new customer information.
  • Contribute to Customer Service Improvement Teams, sharing insights and ideas to enhance our services.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 1-3 years of previous customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using an ERP system is highly preferred.

  • Internal contacts: Customers, Customer Service team members, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Finance.
  • Confidential data: Customer pricing and applications.

Cognitive and Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing).
  • Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

Job Specific Competencies, Experience, and Skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
  • Collaborative team spirit and adaptability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) and experience using Salesforce.com a plus.
