Job Summary

As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at blithequark, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining our data storage infrastructure, ensuring data backups and recoveries, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing expert recommendations and best practices to the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise data storage systems, including NAS, SAN, and DAS, as well as experience with virtualization, data security, and operating system frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee and maintain enterprise data storage systems, including NAS, SAN, and DAS

  • Execute and maintain enterprise backup and data recovery processes
  • Proficiently manage and monitor reporting tools and software
  • Develop and implement storage plan strategies, based on industry best practices and standards
  • Collaborate and communicate with application, database, server, and other technology teams on engineering and design choices to ensure suitable storage solutions
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to adapt and prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Provide clear and concise documentation for both routine and complex tasks
  • Contribute specialized support and guidance on complex activities such as installation, setup, and backup/restore operations for all systems
  • Perform code updates and security patches to maintain the integrity of storage systems
  • Apply general knowledge of Windows/Linux operating system concepts to interact with various systems effectively

Essential Qualifications

* General knowledge of data storage or related field(s)

  • Demonstrated experience with virtualization solutions
  • Hands-on experience working with hardware (servers, LAN/SAN switches, storage, etc.)
  • Familiarity with current and emerging data security technologies
  • Knowledge of NAS concepts and protocols (CIFS, NFS, and S3)
  • Operating system framework expertise (both Linux and Windows)
  • VMWare concepts and administration

  • Strong organizational skills and perseverance in completing assigned tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Active involvement in IT equipment life-cycle management
  • Broad investigating and execution monitoring skills
  • Ability to work autonomously under broad guidance

Education

* Four-year degree from a recognized institution in Computer Science or a related field (a combination of training, work experience, and education may be considered)
