About the Role

As a part-time remote tutor with Revolution Prep, you will be responsible for tutoring students in a variety of academic and test prep subjects, communicating with families regarding student progress, and participating in ongoing professional development. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, using our cutting-edge technology and resources to deliver high-quality online instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tutor students in a range of academic and test prep subjects, including STEM and foreign languages (80% of work schedule)
• Communicate with families regarding student progress, including making recommendations for student success (10% of work schedule)
• Participate in ongoing professional development and subject expansion (5% of work schedule)
• Prepare for sessions using Revolution Prep-provided materials (5% of work schedule)

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas. The following qualifications are essential:

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees welcomed
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience (desirable but not required)
• Expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects and foreign languages (specifically, Chinese)
• An engaging personality that is comfortable meeting and collaborating with families, students, and colleagues
• A commitment to customer service and ongoing professional growth
• A "growth mindset" (unafraid of challenges; adaptable to change; willingness to learn)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or tutoring in algebra I, geometry, and algebra II
• Ability to tutor in AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Chemistry (may be eligible for a higher starting rate)

Schedule Requirements

As a part-time remote tutor, you will be required to:

• Post at least 16 hours of adjunct prime-time availability on your calendar each week
• Work a minimum of 12 hours per week, delivered on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends
• Be available for at least 8 hours of tutoring on Saturdays and/or Sundays within our adjunct prime-time hours

Technology Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Have a Mac/PC desktop or laptop with high-speed internet and strong and reliable reception/service
• Be able to connect via ethernet cable
• Have a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions
