Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for Disney Web-based features (DSS), a section under the Disney Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET). As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing large-scale data solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, design data architectures, and develop scalable data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and develop large-scale data solutions that meet business requirements and drive growth

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to identify business needs and design data architectures
  • Develop and implement data pipelines using ETL tools, data warehousing, and big data technologies
  • Work with data modelers and architects to design and implement data models and data governance frameworks
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of data solutions and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
  • Ensure high functional productivity and quality of solutions to meet SLAs and support obligation to clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups)
  • Participate in agile/scrum practice to ensure team well-being and cycle enhancements

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to write complex queries to extract insights from large datasets
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, and AWS Glue
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and data quality best practices
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and version control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and experience with data visualization tools
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to work with cross-functional teams
