Performance Marketing Associate (Entry-Level, Contract-to-Hire)

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-17

Position Overview: We’re seeking a Performance Marketing Associate to support our Performance Marketing Managers with the execution, QA, and optimization of paid advertising campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn Ads and other performance channels. This role is designed as a shared resource across multiple accounts, focused specifically on advertising and campaign-related tasks. You’ll help ensure campaigns are launched accurately, tracked correctly, reported consistently, and optimized appropriately thereby allowing Performance Marketing Managers to stay focused on strategy, optimization, and client communication. This is an ideal role for an early-career marketer who wants hands-on exposure to paid media and performance marketing inside an agency environment and is eager to learn how advertising, data, tracking, and optimization work together to drive results. This is a part-time 1099 position (20–35 hours per week) with the potential to grow into a full-time W2 role based on performance and agency needs Minimum Requirements: You don’t need to be a paid media expert on day one — we’re looking for someone who’s detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated to learn performance marketing from the inside.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong interest in paid advertising, analytics, and performance-driven marketing
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and confidence in building basic reports or trackers in Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with platforms like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot, and Google Search Console
  • Excellent organizational skills and a thoughtful approach to how you manage files, data, and deadlines
  • High attention to detail when reviewing search terms, keywords, ads, links, targeting, budgets, and tracking
  • Resourceful and curious — able to figure things out independently using search engines or AI tools
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns or accounts at once
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana is a plus (not required)

Responsibilities / Role: Paid Advertising Support

  • Support Performance Marketing Managers with campaign setup across Google Ads, Meta, and other ad platforms
  • Build and QA campaign components including:
  • Campaign and ad group structure
  • Targeting and geographic settings
  • Budgets and bid strategies
  • Ad copy and creative placements
  • URLs, UTMs, and tracking parameters
  • Assist with launching new campaigns and ensuring all pre-launch checks are completed accurately

Campaign QA & Optimization Support

  • Conduct detailed QA of live campaigns to ensure settings align with strategy and client goals
  • Monitor campaigns for common issues (disapproved ads, broken links, tracking errors, budget caps, delivery issues)
  • Support ongoing optimizations by:
  • Pulling performance data
  • Identifying trends or anomalies
  • Preparing insights for PMMs to review and act on
  • Implement approved optimizations or changes under the direction of Performance Marketing Managers

Tracking, Reporting & Analytics

  • Assist with conversion tracking QA (forms, calls, events, pixels, UTMs)
  • Support Google Analytics and CRM-based reporting to ensure leads and conversions are tracked correctly
  • Build and maintain recurring performance reports and dashboards in Google Sheets or platform-native tools
  • Help investigate discrepancies between ad platforms, analytics tools, and CRMs
  • Document tracking setups and reporting methodologies for consistency across accounts

Internal Coordination & Process Support

  • Support PMMs with task execution and prioritization in Asana
  • Coordinate with creative, web, and CRM teams to ensure advertising needs are met
  • Maintain organized documentation related to campaigns, tracking, and platform access
  • Assist with onboarding new advertising clients by helping gather access, assets, and baseline data
  • Contribute to improving internal paid media processes, checklists, and QA systems

Expectations:

  • Attention to Detail: You catch errors before they go live — settings, links, budgets, and tracking all matter.
  • Organization: You keep campaigns, reports, and tasks structured and easy to follow.
  • Responsiveness: You support PMMs proactively and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Resourcefulness: You don’t wait for answers — you know how to find them.
  • Communication: You ask smart questions and proactively update stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: You can shift between platforms, accounts, and priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Curiosity: You want to understand why campaigns perform the way they do, not just what to change.

Growth & Learning: This role provides direct exposure to real-world paid media execution inside a performance marketing agency. You’ll learn how campaigns are structured, optimized, measured, and scaled — and how data informs strategy. As your skills develop, this role can grow into deeper ownership of:

  • Campaign builds and optimizations
  • Reporting and insights
  • Platform specialization (Google Ads, Meta, etc.)
  • A future Performance Marketing Manager or specialist role

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $25–$30/hour, based on experience
  • Approximately 20–35 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling within standard business hours (9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET)
  • Contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time W2 employment
