Overview
As a Virtual Sitter, your role will be centered around ensuring resident safety. You will provide continuous remote monitoring for residents at risk of falls, elopement, or self‑harm, using visual observation via room safety cameras and proactive communication with facility staff to prevent adverse events and enhance the resident experience. How You Will Make a Difference
- Continuously visualize residents via remote monitoring equipment, identifying potential harm to self or others such as dislodging tubes or IVs and unassisted movements.
- Communicate with facility nurses to determine when cameras should be adjusted for privacy during daily care, physician visits, etc.
- Obtain a verbal report from the resident’s nurse detailing ambulation limitations, care needs, diagnoses, and special considerations (e.g., NPO status, bed alarms, mobility restrictions).
- Collaborate with the manager regarding concerns that do not require immediate physical intervention.
- Observe resident activity and behavior, redirecting as needed, and notifying floor nurses when physical intervention is required, such as assisting with toileting or repositioning.
- Identify safety risks and communicate the need to elevate assistance to the resident’s unit.
- Act cooperatively as a team member, responding to directives from responsible nurses and adapting to changing resident or unit needs.
- Communicate professionally and demonstrate respect for residents, families, and all healthcare members.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in healthcare preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant preferred.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet/intranet navigation.
Position Details
- ONSITE at Signature Health
CARE Home Office in Jeffersontown.
- Work 3 nights weekly, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
- Remote monitoring of facilities in Tennessee via video.
- Salary up to USD $22.00 / hour.
