Accounts Payable Clerk- Temp

SIG Group is a leading provider of packaging systems and solutions, seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a temporary role. The position involves managing day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring compliance with policies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Verify that receivers, purchase orders, and invoices match in quantity and price
  • Sending reports and working directly with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
  • Makes sure all discounts are taken on a timely basis
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Monitoring shared AP inbox
  • Review goods receipts reports regularly to identify missing invoices or receiving issues
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Organize digital invoice and support files for digital document imaging system
  • Assist in month-end closing activities
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information
  • Perform backup support, other clerical tasks, and ad hoc reporting as needed

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year of related experience or formal training
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Associate's degree or relevant coursework in Accounting or Finance
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Familiarity with three-way matching (invoice, purchase order, and receiving documentation)
