Technical Project Manager I

Motorola Solutions is a global leader in mission-critical communications and analytics. They are seeking a Technical Project Manager I to lead the implementation of communications systems, ensuring successful project execution and customer satisfaction through effective project management and cross-functional team coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Complete various design and implementation tasks personally or by contracted resources
  • Embrace a top-down oversight throughout the entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline
  • Monitor project progress continuously and create detailed scheduled reports on measurable items such as milestones and deliverables
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes
  • Oversee the acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house resources
  • Engage in continuous learning to retain an in-depth understanding of the product line and required configuration
  • The Project Manager must be willing to travel 25 - 50% of the time domestically

Skills

  • Associates degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • PM Certification desirable
  • Proven team player
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the critical communication industry, including implementation work and interactions with customers
  • Able to tackle problems and issues with enthusiasm and tenacity while recognizing and anticipating issues that could threaten a successful project completion
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at any one time
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems in a critical communications environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate and coordinate across different groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Operating systems and networking concepts
  • Responsible for the successful completion of various deliverables on small to mid-size projects
  • High School diploma, and Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of experience in the Technology/Telecommunications field OR 3+ years of experience in the Technology/Telecommunications field required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
