What to Expect

As a Customer Service Benefit Advocate, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to and resolving customer service inquiries on the first call, addressing topics such as benefits, eligibility, and claims
  • Educating customers on consumer-driven health care topics to help them select optimal benefit plans
  • Contacting care providers on behalf of customers for appointment scheduling and specialist connections
  • Assisting customers in navigating online resources and encouraging self-sufficiency
  • Researching complex health-related issues to provide accurate information and solutions

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner

  • Provide expert guidance on consumer-driven health care topics, including benefit plan design and medical terminology
  • Collaborate with care providers to schedule appointments and connect customers with specialist services
  • Utilize online resources to assist customers in navigating the healthcare system and promoting self-sufficiency
  • Conduct research to provide accurate and up-to-date information on complex health-related issues

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 6+ months of customer service experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work any shift between 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM EST from Monday to Friday, including occasional overtime and weekends
  • Must reside within a 100-mile commutable distance of Greensboro, NC

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will make you a strong candidate:

  • Familiarity with healthcare or insurance environments, including medical terminology and benefit plan design
  • Experience in social work, behavioral health, or working with vulnerable populations
  • Background in sales or account management

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
