Job Summary We're seeking a Senior Resource Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in NEPA analysis and natural resource management. As a Senior Resource Specialist, you will play a key role in our environmental services team, providing technical expertise and leadership on projects related to environmental impact assessment, natural resource management, and sustainability. This is a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct completeness reviews of baseline documentation and prepare impact analyses across a variety of natural resources, with a focus on biological resources (wildlife, species status, threatened and endangered species, vegetation, etc.) Assist in data review and writing biology and botany resource sections for NEPA and/or baseline documents Assist with NEPA analysis of other resources, as required Collaborate with management staff and other team members on research, technical report writing, and QA/QC review of analytical sections of environmental documents Provide technical expertise and guidance on environmental regulations and policies, including NEPA, ESA, and other relevant laws and regulations Develop and implement effective environmental management strategies and solutions Communicate complex technical information to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and the public Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental policy, environmental planning, or a related field At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in NEPA analysis and natural resource management Thorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated experience with planning projects and ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in environmental science, environmental policy, environmental planning, or a related field Experience with the BLM and/or USFS NEPA processes and requirements Working knowledge of and experience with mapping software (ArcGIS) Excellent ability to facilitate decision-making and issue resolution processes Experience with additional regulatory requirements Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects Strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Stantec, we're committed to the growth and development of our team members.
