Quality Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Description: Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to assist the Quality Engineers in tasks related to part and process inspection and monitoring, PPAP, APQP and customer concerns that may affect the plants quality performance, and to assist in giving guidance to Supervisors and direct Operators. Primary Responsibilities: Perform laboratory-based quality testing and inspection. Assists Quality Engineers in final inspections and data collection for production and new launch activities. Provides guidance and instruction to Production Supervisors and direct Operators regarding inspection and quality activities. Monitors and reviews basic inspection/production charts for timeliness, accuracy, and reactions. Monitors and performs auditing activities for compliance to print and customer requirements. Ensures the correct documentation is available and in use per quality requirements. Ensures that correct gauges are in use and properly maintained. Maintains necessary records and reports as per company specific procedures. Reviews quality documentation including statistical evidence and product certification for incoming materials. Actively participates in problem solving activities for the customer and suppliers. Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained. Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to the facility. Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean. May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description. Education and Qualifications: Two to four years’ experience in quality preferred. Ability to read and understand customer product drawings preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary. Work Environment/Work Conditions: Professional Office Environment. Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor. Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required. Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
