Job Overview: Customer Experience Banker - Float

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Customer Experience Banker - Float to join our team in Traverse City, MI. As a float banker, you will have the opportunity to work in various branches, providing support and coverage to ensure seamless customer service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in proactive sales and customer service activities, including teller transactions, to drive customer growth and retention
  • Proactively identify financial goals and needs, recommending appropriate deposit, loan, and other banking products and services to customers
  • Serve as a concierge, providing personalized support to walk-in customers and resolving issues efficiently
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, balancing daily transactions while maintaining exemplary customer service standards
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through disciplined sales processes, new customer follow-up programs, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals
  • Educate customers on bank products, services, and technology, including online, mobile, and ATM banking, to enhance their banking experience
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deepen customer relationships, build strong partnerships, and drive business growth
  • Adhere to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year of customer service or military service in an administration, contracting, civil affairs, or similar role
  • Or a Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Comfort with technology, including mobile services and online banking services
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned branches (drive times limited to 45 minutes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year or more of customer service experience in banking, financial services, or goal-driven retail sales
  • 1 year of banking experience
  • Cash handling skills and experience with consumer deposit products
  • Strong comfort level with technology, including mobile services and online banking services
