Privacy Operations Director

About the position Kaseya is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Privacy Operations to elevate and optimize our global data privacy and protection program. In this role, you will oversee the operational execution of key aspects of our privacy strategy, ensuring compliance with international privacy, data protection, and AI regulations (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act, and others), while aligning with our business objectives and risk management goals. You will champion the evolution of our privacy program from foundational compliance to strategic competitive advantage, provide expert guidance on privacy implications of new business initiatives, products, and services, and collaborate with senior leadership to integrate privacy considerations into strategic planning. This position requires deep expertise in privacy operations, project management, cross-functional leadership, and a demonstrated ability to implement scalable compliance frameworks across a complex global organization. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, innovation, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration to protect the data of Kaseya and its customers and maintain stakeholder trust.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Lead day-to-day management of Kaseya’s global privacy operations, ensuring compliance with evolving privacy, data protection, and AI laws and standards.
  • Program Management: Design, implement, and continuously enhance the operational aspects of Kaseya’s data privacy program to align with global standards and frameworks and support efforts to obtain relevant certifications (ISO 27001/27701, Data Privacy Framework, APEC PRP, etc.).
  • Process Optimization: Develop scalable, automated, and efficient privacy-related processes and documentation, including data subject request (DSR) handling, privacy impact assessments (PIAs/DIAs), data mapping exercises, and vendor assessments.
  • Policy Governance: Develop, maintain, and enforce privacy policies, procedures, and standards, and monitor adherence across the business.
  • Risk Management: Conduct privacy risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Training: Serve as key point of contact for internal stakeholders. Oversee privacy training programs and awareness initiatives across the organization. Partner with Legal, Security, Product, HR, Marketing, and other stakeholders to embed privacy by design principles and enable privacy-related functional requirements.
  • Vendor & Third-Party Management: Lead privacy due diligence processes and manage contractual data protection requirements with third-party vendors.
  • Privacy Technology Enablement: Evaluate, implement, and manage privacy management platforms and tools to support privacy program operations and process optimization.
  • Incident Response Support: Coordinate with internal teams to support privacy incident response processes and notifications when required.
  • Audit & Reporting: Prepare for and support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviews. Establish, monitor, and communicate key privacy metrics and performance indicators to report program effectiveness and key risk indicators to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive privacy experience, with at least 3 years leading privacy operations.
  • Proven experience building and scaling a privacy program in a high-growth environment, preferably in a global technology or SaaS organization.
  • Deep understanding of global privacy, data protection, and AI regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act, etc.).
  • Experience with privacy management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc).
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT.
  • Background in legal, regulatory, or cybersecurity environments.
