Program Overview – Hybrid Training Experience

This entry‑level Customer Service Trainee role offers a structured eight‑week hybrid training program that blends on‑site immersion with remote learning to ensure you develop both technical expertise and real‑world communication skills.

  • On‑site weeks: Weeks 1, 2, 6, and 7 – hands‑on workshops, mentorship sessions, and live system walkthroughs at our Farmington Hills hub.
  • Remote weeks: Weeks 3, 4, 5, and 8 – virtual instructor‑led training, digital labs, and collaborative projects from the comfort of your home.

Upon successful completion, you’ll transition into a full‑time customer service position where you’ll support members, providers, and internal teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

In this learning‑focused role, you will:

  • Research member and provider inquiries by navigating the claims processing system and auxiliary data sources.
  • Respond to questions via telephone, email, or mailed correspondence, consistently applying professional etiquette, clear grammar, and proper punctuation.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, ensuring files are up‑to‑date and compliant with internal policies.
  • Operate essential office equipment, including personal computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Perform corrections to claims and eligibility information to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Enter new claims, eligibility details, and subscriber information into the mainframe system with precision.
  • Review subscriber coverage plans to determine benefit levels, eligibility criteria, and any applicable limitations.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to troubleshoot complex issues and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Document interactions and resolutions in the CRM system, contributing to a searchable knowledge base for future reference.

Minimum Qualifications (Must‑Have)

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
  • At least one year of customer service experience in a business environment that required the use of computer applications—preferably within a call‑center or dental‑service context.
  • Successful completion of the customer service simulation test with a minimum score of 62/100 (assessment waived for candidates who previously passed the test at arenaflex or who have held a Customer Service Trainee, Advisor, or Associate role).
  • Availability to work either:
    • Shift 1: 8:25 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday, or
    • Shift 2: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. (midnight), Monday‑Friday.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on professionalism and empathy.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)

  • Prior experience in a dental‑benefits environment or familiarity with dental terminology.
  • Exposure to mainframe or legacy claim processing platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.
  • Basic knowledge of data privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Proactive attitude toward continuous learning and skill development.
