Compliance Attorney (Pharma/Biotech Experience)

The Position A rapidly growing, mission-driven healthcare diagnostics company is seeking a Compliance Attorney to step in immediately to support its compliance function during a leave coverage period. This is a broad, highly business-facing compliance role supporting teams across the organization. This attorney will provide compliance support across the following primary areas:

  • Advertising and Promotional Review; serving on cross-functional review teams and reviewing both HCP and patient-facing materials in partnership with legal, medical, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Internal Compliance Investigations; leading investigations end-to-end, partnering with HR as appropriate, and managing findings and remediation.
  • Compliance Mailbox Triage and Daily Guidance; monitoring and triaging matters in a shared compliance inbox, resolving routine issues, escalating high-risk matters, and advising commercial and cross-functional teams.
  • Commercial Contracting, Policy, and Training Support; advising on compliance considerations tied to partnerships and contracts, supporting policy updates, and assisting with training initiatives.

Candidates must have hands-on advertising and promotional review experience supporting commercial teams. Experience leading compliance investigations is required. Prior experience in pharma, medical device, or laboratory testing environments is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic risk advisor who can operate effectively in gray areas, triage high-volume inquiries, provide white-glove service to business partners, and know when to escalate issues appropriately. Targeting an ASAP start, 30-40 hours per week, for an estimated 4-5 month duration. This position can be fully remote. Candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area are a plus. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $106 and $112. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
