Senior Designer - Freelance

About The Opportunity 

Grubhub is stepping into a bold new chapter, redefining our brand and the way we show up in culture. We’re evolving from a familiar food delivery name into a brand with attitude, personality, and unmistakable point of view. We’re looking for a Designer who thrives in fast-paced, startup-style environments—someone ready to shape this transformation with big ideas and fearless creativity.

This role calls for a strategic and conceptual thinker—someone who can take a brief and push it further, crafting ideas that challenge convention and connect with people in unexpected ways. You’re hands-on with design but comfortable leaning into ambiguity, using your sharp eye for detail and storytelling instincts to bring big ideas to life.

You’ll concept, design, and execute across a wide range of touchpoints—social, digital, video, and campaign—while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team. This role is fully remote, with working hours aligned to Central Time.

The Impact You Will Make 

• Craft high-quality design across digital marketing touchpoints in Figma that drives engagement.

• Lead creative development across key projects—from concept through execution—ensuring the work reflects Grubhub’s bold direction.

• Push beyond the brief, uncovering fresh, strategic ways to express the brand and surprise our audience. Present work with clarity and confidence, articulating the thinking behind each creative decision.

• Navigate ambiguity and move quickly, adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining a high bar for craft.

• Mentor and inspire fellow creatives, fostering a culture of curiosity, craft, and creative bravery.

• Bring a solutions-oriented mindset, proactively improving processes and team efficiency.

What You Bring to the Table 

• 4–6+ years of experience in design—whether agency, studio, or in-house—with a focus on concept-driven, cross-channel work.

• A portfolio that showcases strategic thinking, conceptual range, and impeccable craft.

• Mastery of Figma 

• Experience in Adobe Suites (motion or After Effects experience a plus).

• Strong sense of typography, color, and composition.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

• A pulse on food culture, pop culture, and the evolving creative landscape.

• Comfort working in a hybrid, fast-paced, start-up-minded environment.

• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack.

United States: $85- 110 per hour.
