Director GOE Global Security & EMEA

Location: Flexible Europe

Become the global force behind security excellence at dsm‑firmenich — while directly leading regional security execution across EMEA. As Director GOE Global Security & EMEA, you will shape and deploy the company‑wide security strategy, build organizational capability, and ensure operational readiness across more than 120 sites. You will combine strategic global leadership with hands‑on regional stewardship, strengthening crisis preparedness, protecting people and assets, and supporting leaders in navigating a rapidly changing global risk landscape.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously evolve the global security strategy, ensuring alignment across all regions and business units.
  • Govern and enhance security capabilities and frameworks, including global protocols, mandatory e‑learning, and Essential Security Training (EST).
  • Strengthen travel risk and crisis management, supporting GRT, approving high‑risk travel, and ensuring preparedness globally.
  • Oversee global investigations, building investigation capabilities across regions and sites.
  • Ensure strong internal alignment with BU SHE leads and key functions (Audit, Insurance, Legal, Ethics, D&T, Finance, Communications).
  • Manage strategic external partnerships (Control Risks, International SOS, ISMA, and others).
  • Maintain clear communication through the GOE Security SharePoint and global platforms, ensuring visibility and easy access to guidance
  • Provide support to EMEA sites by operationalizing global security protocols, validating security risk assessments, and supporting crisis readiness and major incident response.
  • Deliver key security trainings (EST, Crisis, SPHERA, ISOS) across the region and engage regional SHE leads, country leaders, and NPoRs to ensure alignment on security priorities and high‑profile events.

You bring

  • A bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
  • Multi‑year, proven experience in global or corporate‑level security and crisis management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide regional security leads and influence globally in a matrix setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver key security trainings (Crisis, EST, SPHERA, ISOS).
  • Strong analytical and investigative capabilities, including experience handling sensitive incidents.
  • Ability to operate under pressure, manage sensitive topics, and support senior executives.
  • A resilient, structured, and trustworthy working style, able to manage senior‑level interactions under pressure
