With over 40 years’ experience, Harvey Water Softeners is the UK market leader in the manufacture and retail of domestic water softeners. At our factory in Old Woking we have a full production and R&D facility, both of which sit alongside our head office. We aren’t hanging around - sales are storming, we need great people to join our fantastic team and continue to fuel our momentum.

As a result of our successful growth, we are now looking to employ a Business Development Manager to join our Dealer channel. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with a proven "hunter" mentality. This role is crucial for driving growth and expanding our client base. The ideal candidate will have a knack for identifying new business opportunities, engaging with potential clients, and closing deals that align with our strategic goals.

What this role involves

  • Working with existing customers to develop relationships and increase sales revenue
  • Negotiating contracts and close deals to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Identifying and pursue new business opportunities, in the industry with a focus initially on plumbers merchants and kitchens/bathrooms sector
  • Being commercially aware and focused in delivering the company’s targets for new and existing business as defined by your prescribed company targets.
  • To develop sales strategies that can be deployed against our competitors to secure new business
  • Following up on sales opportunities within 24 hours of issue and follow up on quotations in a timely manner, providing feedback on won or lost opportunities.
  • Providing periodic reports as requested on sales activities, identifying opportunities, challenges and plan sales activities accordingly to ensure adequate market coverage to senior management.
  • Updating and maintain accurate customer account records using the defined company IT systems.
  • Attend industry events to network and generate leads whilst also attending trade shows.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (occasional weekend work for trade events if necessary)

  • Confident in using initiative and making independent decisions
  • Resilient and composed under pressure, able to manage high demands
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a reactive environment
  • Proactive in challenging existing processes and embracing change
  • Confident and engaging in face-to-face sales interactions
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, ensuring consistent follow-up and engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
