Director of CRM and Business Intelligence

We are seeking a Director of CRM and Business Intelligence to oversee the design, administration, maintenance, and strategic advancement of the Enrollment Management CRM platform (Technolutions Slate) and business intelligence platforms. This role supports and works closely with the CIO to develop and manage many aspects of the institution’s data management strategy. The Director serves as the primary authority for CRM architecture and business intelligence development, with responsibility for CRM operations, BI platform administration (Tableau and Power BI), and the delivery of enterprise dashboards. The Director acts as a cross-functional leader supporting all academic and administrative institutional divisions. Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on analytics, programming, and report writing skills.
  • 4–5 years of CRM experience, including 2+ years of hands-on leadership and administration of Technolutions Slate, supporting complex enrollment, communications, and data workflows.
  • Demonstrated expertise configuring and managing Slate functionality, including applications, forms, events, communications, workflows, datasets, rules, portals, and security profiles.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or similar student information system (SIS).
  • Strong understanding of SQL, HTML, Java, and relational database concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel).
  • Demonstrated experience as a lead BI developer, including dashboard development and administration of Tableau Server and Power BI environments.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to work with a diverse group of technical and non-technical people and handle interactions and concerns with professionalism.

Responsibilities & Duties CRM and BI Leadership (Approximately 90% of weekly work hours)

  • Act as the primary Slate leader and administrator by managing the day-to-day operation, use, configuration, and curation of the system to maintain functionality, appearance, compliance, and settings within all areas of the CRM.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of CRM security and user profiles to ensure system and data integrity.
  • Manage the Information Technology CRM Group.
  • Configure and customize Slate CRM to meet the specific needs and workflows of different departments and users, including forms, reports, events, letters, fields, datasets, workflows, and portals.
  • Responsible for new Slate CRM initiatives and the aesthetics of rollout.
  • Ensure data integrity and operational efficiencies through rules, automation, and auditing.
  • Maximize efficiency and accuracy of Slate CRM capabilities.
  • Test, deploy, and validate updates, feeds, and new functionality from Technolutions.
  • Manage data integrations and assist with error correction in the feed of data between systems, vendor files, and site-specific forms that insert records into the system.
  • Develop and maintain data integration between Slate CRM and other systems.
  • Serve as lead BI developer and platform administrator for institutional analytics, including Tableau Server and Power BI administration.
  • Participate in the CIO’s Strategic Data Management plan. Contribute to multiple data initiatives and projects led by the CIO such as Data Governance, Data Centralization, Data Quality, Data Dictionary, and Data Classification.
  • Collaborate with the CIO to develop dashboards and analytical reporting using Tableau, Power BI, and Slate CRM to support enterprise decision-making.
  • Participate and collaborate to provide cross-functional support, service, and strategy for the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, compliance, and Institutional Research leadership and stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable analytics and reporting.
  • Support executive- and dean-level reporting by delivering clear, accurate, and actionable reports and information.
  • Maintain system and analytics documentation, including configurations, integrations, data models, and architectural standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and escalated support to functional users and stakeholders; routine operational support may be delegated as appropriate.

Advisory Support (Approximately 10% of weekly work hours)

  • Provide strategic guidance, supervisory oversight of CRM consultants, and advisory support for CRM, analytics, and BI dashboard initiatives.

Skills & Expertise

  • Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners across technical and non-technical domains.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to guide, mentor, and oversee technical consultants and internal teams.
  • Experience handling confidential, private, and regulated institutional data with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence and analytics tools, including Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Suite.
  • Effective public speaking, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative team and understanding the importance of teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sustain computer work for long periods of time.
