Structural (Bridge) Engineer
ATCS is looking for a qualified Bridge Engineer to join their Structural Engineering practice. The role involves performing analysis, design, and documentation of various transportation structures, with a focus on bridges and related infrastructure. Ideal candidates should be self-motivated and enjoy collaboration with others.
Responsibilities
- Complete design tasks with supervision
- Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
- Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
- Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget and schedules
- Prepare cost estimates
- Prepare construction documents
- Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree Civil and Structural Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering highly desired
- 0 to 5+ years of experience
- EIT certification required
- Experience with VDOT, PennDOT or MDOT (SHA-MdTA) projects desirable
- Proficient with Microstation and/or Open Bridge Designer
- Availability and willingness to travel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
- Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
