What you'll do:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Executive Compensation Analyst to support the design, implementation, and administration of our executive compensation programs, including Viasat’s FY27 equity compensation strategies.. Reporting to the Head of Executive Compensation, this individual will play a key role in maintaining executive pay structures, performing market benchmarking, and ensuring the accuracy of our regulatory filings.

As an integral member of the People & Culture team, you will be responsible for developing  the data-driven insights and accompanying reconciliations that inform senior leadership decisions. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency, a "numbers-first" mindset, the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable reports for key stakeholders, understanding of payroll systems and how to implement approved pay actions, partner effectively with the Equity Administration team in Finance, be a confident self-starter with an ability to prioritize and workstreams from end-to-end. Further, the role is expected to contribute to the transformation of our processes and technology by identifying opportunities to drive changes that improve client experience, align with our needs as an 8.000 FTE organization, and help Viasat leverage our executive compensation and equity strategies, moving us from “competency” to “competitive advantage”.

In this role, you must be comfortable diving deep into data while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Executive Compensation Analyst must be laser-focused on data integrity and possess the professional maturity to handle highly sensitive information. The day-to-day:
  • Support the modeling and analysis of executive pay program strategies to ensure they effectively attract, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • Perform comprehensive benchmarking and research of peer group practices and regulatory developments impacting executive compensation.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and presentations for the Compensation and Human Resources Committee.
  • Administer annual and long-term incentive plans, including tracking participation, calculating awards, and maintaining usage forecasts.
  • Draft and audit data for the Compensation Discussion and Analysis (CD&A) section of the annual proxy statement and other public disclosures.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, such as compensation consultants, to collect market data and ensure program compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams to audit compensation data and ensure administrative accuracy.
  • Maintain a self-starter attitude, taking initiative on data-heavy assignments and managing tasks effectively through ambiguity.
  • Serve as an effective partner and collaborator in developing and implementing ideas that will drive simplicity, clarity, and excellence.
  • “Lean in” on equity administration projects that require the involvement of the Executive Compensation Center of Excellence.
  • Helping us drive excellence in risk management, controls, process improvement, data quality, including reconciliation, and reporting.  
What you'll need:
  • 10-15 years of experience in compensation, finance, or data analysis (experience in executive or equity compensation preferred) in a corporate environment, ideally a public company.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including experience building complex financial models or compensation workbooks.
  • Expert data analysis skills with a demonstrated ability to draw meaningful conclusions from large datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain data findings clearly to different audiences.
  • A rigorous analytical mindset and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.

  • Experience with HRIS systems and compensation management software.
Salary range: $133,000.00 - $210,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $165,500.00- $248,500.00/ annually  : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
