Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing billing calls, investigating meter reads, and resolving billing accuracy or payment issues
  • Handling emergency calls, processing customer move-ins, adds, and transfers, and resolving complex issues
  • Processing refunds, compensation requests, and changes to accounts, while ensuring accurate and timely resolution
  • Routing escalated customer issues for resolution, making referrals, and processing requests for special programs
  • Assisting customers with credit/payment arrangements, directing them to self-service channels as necessary, and meeting individual deadlines and team goals
  • Multi-tasking while effectively focusing on priority issues, working cooperatively in a group environment to achieve common goals

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of customer service experience
  • Computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to type a minimum of 25 WPM (Word Per Minute)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will make you a strong candidate:

  • 2-3 years of call center experience
  • 2-5 years of previous customer service work from home experience
  • Utility experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Ability to type 60-65 WPM

Work Environment and Requirements

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will work from a secure, private location with high-speed wired internet access (75mpbs download and 15mpbs upload). You will be required to maintain a non-disruptive work environment, free from distractions and interruptions. You will also need to have a smartphone to download a VPN app on your personal device.
