The Opportunity

As we continue to scale, we are seeking a VP of Operations for our practices located in the New York and New Jersey markets. This leader will oversee nearly 50 dental practices generating over $50 million in revenue and serving as the operational backbone for a region that is central to SALT's growth strategy. This leader will partner closely with practice leaders, partner doctors, clinical teams, and cross-functional support functions to drive performance, consistency, and culture across a geographically dispersed footprint. This is a high-impact, highly visible role for an operator who thrives in a fast-moving, multi-site environment and wants to help build something that genuinely changes how specialty dental care is delivered.

We’re looking for someone who has had experience with larger dental practice operations and footprints, someone who understands the clinical, operational playbooks, and financial impacts of dental practice operations. High collaboration with our Chief Clinical Officer alongside FP&A, Marketing, Data & Analytics, Talent and our Strategy teams. This position will report into the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellent: Leverage various operational dashboards, Ortho and Pedo playbooks, KPI’s and performance metrics to help partner doctors drive operational excellent
  • P&L Ownership: Oversee financial performance of the NY, NJ and PA markets, monitor key drivers, collaborate with FP&A, and implement initiatives to improve margins and drive sustainable
  • System Integration: Guide the transition and optimization of existing Practice Management Systems (PMS) in coordination with our data and technology teams
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Growth, Strategy, and Clinical teams to align Oral Surgery expansion with broader enterprise priorities
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage insights from PMS and analytics teams to identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve operational outcomes
  • Culture and Clinical Alignment: Ensure the Oral Surgery service line fits within our patient-first culture and integrates seamlessly with pediatric and orthodontic partners in each location
Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of multi-site dental operations experience, owning 50+MM P&L
  • Preferably someone located in the New York Metro Area or Greater New York Area
  • Regular travel across the tri-state region with occasional visits to our Pennsylvania location
  • High emotional intelligence—able to build trust quickly across clinical and operational stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen—comfortable with P&L ownership, financial modeling, and strategic planning
  • Experience with Practice Management Systems (PMS) and integration or conversion efforts
  • Analytical mindset—able to translate data into action and communicate insights clearly to operators and executives
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in a growth environment
