Job title: Special Education Teacher- Learning Support- ESY Inclusive Company: Chester County Intermediate Unit Job description: A vacancy exists for a Special Education Teacher- Learning Support- ESY Inclusive within the CCIU's Division of Student Services. This position will be located at the Child & Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA. The CCIU is currently offering a sign on bonus of up to $1,500 for candidates who apply and are subsequently hired for a position between March 16, 2023, and October 31, 2023. More information will be shared with eligible individuals at the time of hire. Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required.
• PDE Special Education certification required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.
• Plan curriculum and lessons.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress.
• When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
• Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students.
