Job description: Summary
About the Position: Serves as a Chinese Mandarin language teacher for the Undergraduate Chinese School (UCM) or Undergraduate Chinese Russian School (UCR) at the Presidio of Monterey. The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) offers foreign language instruction in more than two dozen languages on a schedule that extends throughout the year. Courses are taught six hours per day, five days a week, with the exception of federal holidays and training holidays.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires current, valid U.S. work Authorization at time of application.
- This position is a TERM time limited position; tenure track. The initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 24 months, and may be extended upon mission, funding and management discretion.
- Applicants who do not possess a current, valid U.S. work authorization may not be appointed for 24 months, but will receive an appointment aligned to their work authorization status, to include those who may only be appointed for less than one year, who will receive a TEMPORARY Tenure 0 (Adjunct) appointment. Employees on Temporary (Adjunct) appointments are not eligible to participate in Federal Employees Retirement (FERS), Thrift Saving Plan (TSP) and life insurance benefits.
