A Day in the Life

Join Medtronic as a Senior Marketing Specialist to help drive the adoption of ENT, Cranial & Spinal enabling technologies across Central and South Africa. This role offers flexible working and requires up to 50% travel to support marketing initiatives, customer events and market development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical innovations into impactful messaging, while ensuring quality and compliance. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans tailored for Central and South Africa to support product launches, market development, and portfolio growth 
  • Collaborate with global, regional, and local marketing, sales, and clinical teams to ensure messaging alignment across the region
  • Identify regional market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to inform strategy and tactical plans
  • Create and manage marketing collateral, sales tools, digital content, and educational materials highlighting the value of capital equipment such as StealthStation™(Medtronic’s advanced surgical navigation system that enhances precision in ENT, cranial and spinal procedures), O-arm, NIM Vital, Visualase, Midas Rex etc.
  • Support the development of customer-facing presentations, case studies, and testimonials
  • Participate in cross-functional launch teams to ensure successful commercialization of new products and features
  • Gather and analyze regional market intelligence, providing regular reports and insights to leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure all marketing materials and activities comply with regulatory requirements and Medtronic’s quality standards

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience working with capital equiment, preferably in medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed, cross-functional, and multicultural environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital marketing tools

Experience with surgical or enabling technologies in neurosurgery, ENT or orthopedic surgery, an advanced degree in business, engineering, or healthcare-related discipline, familiarity with industry regulations and compliance messaging, and experience in a regional marketing role are desirable and will be considered an advantage.
