The Athletic Department at CSU Maritime Academy is currently accepting applications for a coaching position for the 2023-2024 academic year, with the possibility of annual reappointment dependent on performance and budget considerations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in all aspects of an intercollegiate sailing program competing as a member of the Pacific Coast College Sailing Conference (PCCSC), Intercollegiate Sailing Conference (ICSA) and non-collegiate regattas.
Responsibilities include inside recruiting, all phases of preparation for competition, including conducting dinghy practices, program development, and establishment of a strong academic support environment.
Manage and direct practices and supervise dinghy team travel to regattas.
Supervise occasional offshore practice sessions, facilitate maintenance, and occasionally supervise team travel to dingy regattas.
Occasionally assist with beginner sailing PE courses on board J22s on our waterfront campus.
Work closely with the Head Sailing Coach and undergrad team Captains.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree * Coaching experience
Demonstrated racing experience
US Sailing certification
Ability to work collegially and collaboratively as a member of the faculty
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Collegiate coaching experience
Offshore Distance racing experience * USCG Masters license with sailing endorsement
SALARY COMPENSATION:
- Hiring salary is anticipated at $5,168.00 per month.
- CSU Hiring range is:$ 5,168.00- $ 6,946.00 per month commensurate with education and experience
- The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
- Typical classroom and office environments are in a two-story building with elevator access.
- Applicants must provide proof of US citizenship or authorization to work in the United States within three days from the date of hire.
