CRM Business Analyst

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-17

Energy Support Services (ESS) is a solar operations and maintenance company managing approximately 946 MW across 447 systems in nine states. We self-perform preventive and corrective maintenance, vegetation management, and special projects through regional teams across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. ESS is a subsidiary of New Energy Equity, part of the ALLETE family of companies.

The CRM Business Analyst owns day-to-day administration of the platforms that run ESS's field operations: Drive FSM (our Salesforce-based field service CRM), SolarGrade (work order management), and Raptor Maps (solar asset performance monitoring). The role is responsible for platform configuration, reporting, user training, platform-level data integrity, and supporting the evaluation and rollout of new operational technology.

This is an operations role, not a corporate IT role. Corporate IT functions — endpoints, identity, network, and information security — remain with ALLETE Corporate Technology Services.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration

  • Own day-to-day administration of Drive FSM (Salesforce): user and license management, permission sets, profiles, page layouts, flows, validation rules, and ongoing configuration
  • Administer SolarGrade: user access, template configuration, integration efforts, and platform support.
  • Administer Raptor Maps: user access, site and asset configuration, and data hygiene.
  • Support SharePoint administration: site structure, permissions, document libraries
  • Maintain change logs, release notes, and configuration documentation across owned platforms

Reporting

  • Build and maintain operational reports and dashboards.
  • Support recurring client, regional, ROC, and leadership reporting cadences
  • Ensure reporting outputs are reproducible, documented, and transferable

Data Integrity & User Enablement

  • Lead data integrity initiatives within owned platforms: field standardization, deduplication, audit trails.
  • Train users on new features, workflow changes, and platform best practices.
  • Maintain user guides and how-to documentation for each platform.

Technology Improvement

  • Support Leadership in evaluating, piloting, and rollout of new operational technology
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work through configuration, automation, and process improvement
  • Coordinate with NEE IT where platforms intersect with corporate infrastructure, security, or identity management.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Salesforce administration experience
  • Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM-201 or current equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience building flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards
  • Experience administering at least one additional business platform (CMMS, field service, asset monitoring, SharePoint, or similar)
  • Strong documentation discipline and change management habits
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lightning Web Components experience
  • Hands-on experience with a field service or CMMS platform (Drive FSM, ServiceMax, IFS, or similar)
  • Raptor Maps or similar solar asset performance monitoring platform experience
  • Platform App Builder certification
  • SharePoint Online administration experience, with a focus on building and maintaining SharePoint Pages and Lists
  • Experience in utilities, renewable energy, O&M, construction, or field services
