What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll be instrumental in leveraging artificial intelligence and statistical modeling to deepen our understanding of subscriber behavior and preferences. Your work will directly influence how we retain customers, optimize pricing strategies, and deliver content that resonates with diverse audiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Predictive Models: Develop and deploy machine learning models to understand and forecast subscriber behavior, including churn prediction, upgrade/downgrade patterns, price sensitivity analysis, customer segmentation, and survival analysis.
• Drive Innovation: Create and implement cutting-edge AI solutions that address critical business questions while identifying new opportunities for exploration and growth within the streaming ecosystem.
• Lead Experimentation: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and other experimental approaches to evaluate the impact of your models and recommend data-driven optimizations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with teams across the organization to identify opportunities and translate business needs into analytical solutions. Work collaboratively with other data teams to enhance platform capabilities around data modeling, visualization, experimentation, and data architecture.
• Strategic Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and proposals to senior leadership, translating complex quantitative insights into actionable business strategies.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging methodologies, tools, and best practices in data science and machine learning, bringing fresh ideas to the team.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying production-ready machine learning solutions that solve real-world business problems.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Python and/or R, with additional experience in scientific libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, or equivalent tools.
• Machine Learning Expertise: Proficient in data analysis and developing ML models using Python with frameworks such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or similar technologies.
• Statistical Foundations: Solid background in statistical modeling, including regression, classification, time series forecasting, causal inference, and various analytical techniques.
• Scalable Solutions: Experience developing scalable mathematical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood and utilized by non-technical stakeholders.
• Insight Generation: Ability to extract meaningful insights and conclusions from data to inform model development and business decisions.
• Team Player: Strong desire to collaborate with fellow data scientists, data analysts, and key business partners.
• Database Skills: Strong understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field
• Exceptional analytical skills with advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to select the right statistical tools given specific data analysis problems
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills, capable of presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines
• Proficiency with data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Airflow, and GitHub
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and other forms of experimentation
• Strategic thinking skills to interpret market and consumer information, ideally related to subscription services
• Experience with distributed data technologies such as Hive and Flash
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Neural Network (NN) models
