Senior Control Systems Modernization Engineer Gary, IN 125-160K + Bonus + Paid Relocation Senior Control Systems Modernization Engineer to drive the planning, design, and execution of critical control system upgrades at our facility. This role requires a professional who can develop and apply sound engineering standards, manage complex projects, and provide technical guidance in the field of industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading and executing modernization projects with a focus on our control systems. Key duties include:

  • Project Management: Plan, design, and estimate the scope, time, and cost for assigned engineering projects, overseeing all phases from conception through construction and maintenance.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Analyze and develop effective engineering solutions for issues related to manufacturing equipment and systems, including detailed investigations into the causes of component failures.
  • System Enhancement: Design and enhance manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality through rigorous testing.
  • Autonomy & Oversight: Independently manage and resolve complex engineering issues with minimal supervision, reserving only the most critical or policy-impacting matters for escalation.
  • Standard Compliance: Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing guidance on best practices within the engineering field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional work experience in an industrial environment.
  • Specific expertise with Emerson DeltaV control systems, including programming, configuration, and modernization experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with industrial project management within a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for a hands-on engineer with industrial project and automation experience. The ideal candidate will be focused on modernizing the control systems within our milling facility, bringing strong knowledge of Emerson DeltaV DCS and PLC technology to the role.
