Position Overview The Physical Therapy Program in the Department of Human Movement Science at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning August 15, 2026. We seek a dynamic educator–scholar committed to advancing physical therapy education, clinical practice, and translational research. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty within the School of Health Sciences and contribute to teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum while developing a program of scholarship supported by strong clinical partnerships, research infrastructure, and mentorship opportunities. Role & Responsibilities Teaching Teach across Physical Therapy programs, including the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum, graduate/post-professional certificates (Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, Oncology Rehabilitation, Teaching & Learning), and the Ph.D. in Human Movement Science. Faculty contribute expertise in physical therapy practice, movement science, or related foundational or clinical sciences that support the DPT curriculum. Research Develop and sustain a program of scholarly activity that contributes to the advancement of physical therapy practice, education, or movement science. Opportunities exist for interdisciplinary collaboration across programs within the School of Health Sciences and with regional clinical and community partners. Service Participate in service activities that support the Physical Therapy program, including engagement with clinical partners, student recruitment and mentoring, program development, and professional service.
