Senior Java Streaming Engineer
About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in real-time data processing, streaming architectures, and cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, passionate about building scalable systems, and experienced in technologies like Kafka, Flink, AWS, and CI/CD automation. You’ll work closely with architects, data engineers, and product teams to design, develop, and deploy high-performance streaming applications and event-driven systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-performance, distributed, and event-driven systems using Java and stream processing frameworks (Apache Flink, Kafka Streams).
- Implement and manage Kafka-based messaging and event pipelines, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
- Build and optimize real-time data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines.
- Develop microservices and APIs following modern design principles.
- Deploy and maintain applications on AWS using services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, and Kinesis.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Collaborate with DevOps and data teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical mentoring of junior engineers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in Core Java development, with strong understanding of concurrency, collections, and JVM performance tuning.
- Proven experience with Apache Kafka (topics, partitions, brokers, schema registry, Kafka Connect).
- Hands-on experience with stream processing frameworks such as Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, or Spark Streaming.
- Proficiency in AWS cloud services for data and compute workloads.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with data lake architectures or real-time analytics platforms.
- Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data integration frameworks.
- Certification in AWS Developer or Solutions Architect.
- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing delivery roles.
- Experience working with Financial companies.
