Our client, a premium children’s lifestyle brand, is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Senior Director, Merchandising (Amazon Channel) to lead assortment strategy across key external channels, with a primary focus on Amazon. This is a high-impact opportunity for a strong merchant leader to shape how the brand shows up on Amazon while also influencing broader wholesale channel strategy. This role sits at the intersection of product, merchandising, and commercial strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in Amazon assortment planning, pricing architecture, and channel strategy, along with the ability to translate brand vision into differentiated, channel-right product assortments that drive growth while protecting overall brand integrity. What You’ll Do

  • Lead merchandising and assortment strategy for Amazon, while supporting department store wholesale and other external channels
  • Develop channel-specific product briefs and pricing architecture aligned with brand and business goals
  • Launch and scale a differentiated Amazon-exclusive assortment
  • Partner closely with merchandising, design, sourcing, planning, finance, and external sales partners
  • Own key performance metrics across revenue, margin, and channel productivity
  • Use market and performance insights to continuously refine Amazon and channel strategy
  • Help inform wholesale assortment and go-to-market strategies for premium retail partners

What We’re Looking For

  • 10–15+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, wholesale, or multi-channel retail
  • Strong children’s, baby, or family apparel experience required
  • Proven success building Amazon assortment strategy, including pricing, exclusivity, and channel conflict management
  • Experience working across wholesale or additional external retail channels is strongly preferred
  • Ability to build new channels or businesses in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong financial acumen paired with excellent merchant instincts
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional leadership style

Additional Details

  • Portland-based candidates are preferred, though remote candidates will be considered
  • Candidates must be able to work PST hours
  • Travel is expected several times per year, with the potential for more frequent travel depending on business needs
