Our client, a leading pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Remote Senior Process Chemist to join their distinguished R&D team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for the development, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes for novel active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that processes are robust, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include designing and executing laboratory experiments, utilizing advanced analytical techniques to characterize reaction products and impurities, and troubleshooting complex chemical challenges. You will conduct process hazard analyses, implement safety protocols, and ensure environmental compliance. This role involves significant data analysis and interpretation, leading to data-driven process improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including analytical chemists, chemical engineers, and regulatory affairs specialists, is essential. You will be involved in the preparation of technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions (e.g., IND, NDA), and technology transfer activities to manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in process chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry. Demonstrated expertise in organic synthesis, reaction kinetics, process optimization, and scale-up is required. Proficiency with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, MS, NMR) and a strong understanding of cGMP principles and regulatory requirements are essential. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills are paramount for this role. A dedicated home office with high-speed internet is mandatory.
