Leveraged Finance Analyst
Webster Bank is a leading commercial bank focused on helping individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals. As a Leveraged Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for underwriting new cash flow LBO and private equity-backed transactions, as well as managing portfolio activities within the Sponsor Finance Group.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the deal team in the due diligence process for new cash flow transactions, inclusive of both financial and qualitative due diligence
- Preparing pre-screen memos and credit approval documents for presentation to credit committee
- Preparing financial models
- Assisting in the closing process on new transactions
- Management and ongoing monitoring of portfolio accounts
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in leveraged finance at a commercial bank, investment bank or finance company with strong commercial credit experience
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statement modeling
- Experience underwriting middle market cash flow transactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Graduate of a formalized credit training program is preferred but not required
