[Remote] Accountant II

As an Accountant II, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial information, collaborating with the Corporate Accounting team, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- In this role you’ll ensure the general ledger and financial reporting are accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with GAAP
- Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls related to general ledger accounts and reconciliations
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and perform reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Analyze financial trends and investigate variances across the general ledger and financial statements
- Help maintain company-wide compliance with reconciliation standards and internal control requirements
- Complete investment portfolio accounting entries and related reconciliations
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting reports, including analyzing and explaining budget variances
- Support regulatory reporting by preparing data for filings such as FDIC Call Reports and SEC reports
- Follow company policies, procedures, and all applicable regulatory requirements
Skills
- You have an Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- You have 2 or more years of accounting or related experience (Required)
- You bring a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and how they apply in practice
- You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable building and using spreadsheets to analyze data
- You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, and collaborate well with others
- You have knowledge of federal and state regulations related to accounting within financial institutions
- You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
