[Remote] Paralegal/Legal Project Manager- Real Estate & Affordable Housing

Elevate Legal Talent is partnering with a leading organization in the U.S. housing finance market that supports affordable housing initiatives. They are seeking an Experienced Paralegal/Legal Project Manager to support a sophisticated real estate and multifamily investment legal function, combining legal expertise with project management while working closely with senior legal leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and operational support to senior legal leadership, including work related to corporate real estate and affordable housing investment programs
  • Assist in managing a large-scale real estate and lease portfolio, including lease administration, compliance, amendments, and related documentation (e.g., estoppel certificates, SNDAs, lease notices)
  • Support real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease changes, ensuring proper documentation and execution
  • Partner with legal teams supporting multifamily real estate equity investments, including administrative and transactional support
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Asset Management, Procurement, Compliance, and Operations) and external counsel to advance key initiatives
  • Track and manage legal projects, deliverables, and priorities, ensuring timely execution and clear communication
  • Develop and maintain legal playbooks, trackers, templates, budget reports, and key metrics
  • Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports for leadership and stakeholder discussions

Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in an in-house legal department, corporate real estate environment, or law firm real estate practice
  • Experience supporting real estate transactions, lease administration, or corporate real estate portfolios
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in standard business and legal tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, document management systems, collaboration platforms)
  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site or national corporate real estate portfolio
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs or multifamily real estate investments (e.g., LIHTC)
  • Experience managing legal processes such as due diligence, closings, and post-closing obligations
  • Exposure to legal operations tools, templates, reporting, and workflow optimization
