About the Role: Remote Data Engineering Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Database Architecture & Development: Design, develop, deploy, and operate relational database applications across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance at every stage.
• Test Case Engineering: Develop comprehensive, effective test cases that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous delivery and high-quality software releases.
• Observability Implementation: Build and refine observability capabilities into solutions, enabling the rapid identification of root causes for failures—especially critical in time-sensitive processes where every second counts.
• SQL Scalability & Optimization: Leverage 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL to design scalable data solutions that support enterprise-wide operations and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, product managers, regulatory teams, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, reduce technical debt, and modernize legacy components using cloud-native patterns.
• Open Source Contribution: Engage with the broader engineering community through open-source contributions, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create clear technical documentation, runbooks, and best practices guides to elevate team capability and operational maturity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Professional Experience: Demonstrated, proven ability in the development, deployment, and operations of relational database applications across multiple environments (development, test, production).
• SQL Expertise: A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience working with SQL at scale, including query optimization, schema design, and performance tuning.
• CI/CD Knowledge: Proven experience developing effective test cases that are integrated into CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Observability Experience: 2–3 years of experience developing observability capabilities into solutions to enable quick identification of root causes for failures in time-sensitive processes.
