This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Power BI professional to leverage their expertise in data modeling, DAX, and visualization to deliver high-impact projects and contribute to the success of our organization. Position Overview In this senior role, you will be responsible for building comprehensive Power BI solutions from the ground up, utilizing your mastery of data query, transformation, data modeling, and visualization techniques. Your expertise will be crucial in creating interactive and dynamic dashboards, reports, and data models that meet the evolving needs of our clients. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, design solutions, and implement best practices in Power BI development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end Power BI solutions, including data query, transformation, data modeling, and visualization.
  • Mastery of the Power BI "Get data" step, including accessing various data sources, SQL embedded queries, Power Query Editor data transformations, and query management.
  • Utilize DAX to create complex calculations, measures, and data models that support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Develop interactive and dynamic dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights and drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, design solutions, and implement best practices in Power BI development.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing robust data validation, debugging, and testing procedures.
  • Optimize Power BI solutions for performance, scalability, and usability, leveraging query folding, direct SQL queries, and other advanced techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our solutions and services.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills, including:

  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and visualization.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in SQL, with experience in database system applications, stored procedures, and data warehousing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong professional skills in project management, consultation, and business analysis, with experience in managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, applying and interpreting business rules and concepts in daily work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, the following skills and experiences are preferred:

  • Experience with data modeling tools and methodologies, such as data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Knowledge of Azure-based Power BI report management and distribution, including PBI Workspaces and PBI Apps.
  • Familiarity with Power BI natural language question design and other advanced features.
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance, with experience in implementing data protection and access controls.
