We are currently hiring a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Service Representative to join our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team. This is a 100% remote, work-from-home position based in the state of New Jersey. You will play a vital role in supporting patients who rely on life-sustaining specialty drug therapies, ensuring that every interaction is handled with care, accuracy, and urgency.

Position Summary

As a Pharmacy Service Representative at arenaflex, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients receiving specialty medications. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include coordinating and processing new patient medication orders and reorders, verifying benefits, translating and entering prescriptions into the pharmacy information system, communicating copay amounts, obtaining prior authorizations, and collaborating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve any account or clinical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Communication: Provide professional, empathetic, and timely telephone support to patients receiving specialty drug therapy, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests with the utmost care.
  • Order Coordination: Manage the end-to-end processing of new and refill medication orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every stage.
  • Benefits Verification: Verify and re-verify patient insurance benefits, ensuring coverage for prescribed therapies and identifying any potential issues.
  • Prescription Processing: Accurately translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Financial Coordination: Communicate copay amounts to patients, collect payments, and process financial transactions securely.
  • Authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure timely medication fulfillment.
  • Issue Resolution: Work closely with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and appropriately defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all patient interactions, orders, and resolutions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and medication delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve patient experiences, and contribute to team goals and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and email applications.
  • Minimum of one year of computer keyboarding experience with strong skills and aptitude for accurate and efficient data entry.
  • Must reside in the state of New Jersey and within 75 miles of our Fairfield specialty location at 180 Passaic Ave, Fairfield, NJ 07004.
  • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and compassionately.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior healthcare work experience, particularly in a pharmacy, medical office, or insurance setting.
  • Familiarity with health insurance benefits, prescription processing, prior authorizations, and medical terminology.
  • Experience working in a call center or remote customer service environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
