[Remote] Senior Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Vaco by Highspring is a growing SaaS company seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This individual will serve as a key partner to the Accounting Manager, maintaining accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany transactions, sales tax, and foreign currency accounting
- Review and support revenue recognition activities in accordance with ASC 606 across subscription and professional services revenue streams
- Partner with accounting leadership to improve close processes, identify risks, and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
- Support external audits and provide financial analysis as needed
- Participate in special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience within a private equity-backed environment required
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience with cloud-based ERP systems; NetSuite and Avalara preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Dedicated home office environment with reliable high-speed internet access
- CPA preferred
- SaaS, subscription-based, or recurring revenue experience strongly preferred
- NetSuite and Avalara preferred
