[Remote] Design Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Contract position with a client located in Remote. The role involves designing and developing chassis components, handling multiple projects, and collaborating with suppliers and engineers to resolve technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Requires a BS or MS in engineering
• Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications
• Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures
• Work with suppliers to ensure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports
• Make technical decisions with moderate supervision
• Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats
• Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals
• Must be able to design and develop Chassis components (Subframe, Engine Mounts, Suspension/Steering components, etc)
• Prior design experience with complex aluminum die casting and stamped/welded structures is preferred
• Must be able to work with other design and test engineers and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical problems
• Must be able to handle multiple projects and work with a team to meet development schedules
• Requires Catia V6 proficiency (Solids Modeling must; Surfacing modeling want)
• Design intent and robust modeling (models can withstand major revision)
• Ability to create and interpret 2D Drawings
• GD&T awareness
• Prefer previous Chassis design experience
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
• Ability to pick up new standards and methodologies
