[Remote] Commercial Building Code Consultant

They are seeking licensed architects and engineers to review commercial plan sets and produce structured IBC code compliance findings across various disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Detailed review of plans for code compliance, missing information and inconsistencies
- Evaluate review comments and markups for accuracy and clarifying compliance rationale
- Short-form written clarification of review and compliance rationale
- Using a simple web-app interface is necessary; comfort with screens and PDF plan review essential
Skills
- Licensed architects and engineers to review commercial plan sets
- Produce structured IBC code compliance findings across egress, fire-resistance, accessibility, structural, and MEP and other disciplines
- 15+ years commercial experience and extensive, hands-on QA/QC, permit/correction-letter experience required
- Comfort reviewing plans on screen in a web app is essential
- A licensed or credentialed specialist: RA, PE/SE, FPE, CASp, or ICC specialty certification (Accessibility, Fire, Structural, or Energy Plans Examiner; MCP)
- 15+ years experience in commercial construction and robust skills in plans coordination, review and QA/QC
- ICC Certified Building, Combination, or Fire Plans Examiner — or Master Code Professional (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of commercial experience, with 5+ years of commercial plan review at an AHJ or third-party review firm (SAFEbuilt, Interwest, Willdan, NV5, CSG, or similar)
- CASp certification or CA/FL code experience (CBC, Title 24, FBC)
- Prior third-party or peer review work for jurisdictions
